On October 5, hundreds of Peace supporters marched & rallied at Thomas Square, in response to World Can't Wait's Drive Out the Bush Regime Day. A dramatic highlight was the toppling of a GWBush statue by dozens of citizens.
In concert with rallies of over 250 cities & towns across the nation, the Honolulu chapters of World Can't Wait and Not In Our Name organized Drive Out the Bush Regime day events, starting with banners at freeway overpasses at Pali Hwy, on the H-1 over Isenberg and Kapiolani streets. In the afternoon, feeder marches(and even a bicycle contingent) from various points across Honolulu, converging at the Thomas square rally that lasted from 4-9pm. The Peace movement is far from collapsing, as dozens of speakers reminded particpants that 2/3 of the Public are opposed to the BushCons' illegal Imperial War in Iraq. Stay tuned for many more spirited actions in the coming weeks...
