1000 CALLS TO THE CITY COUNCIL WEEK
Monday, April 3rd - Friday, April 7th
Help preserve rural Oahu! Keep the Country Country! The Honolulu City Council has the power to revoke or modify existing permits, including the 20 year old permits that would allow Turtle Bay Resort/Oak Tree Capital to expand their development by another 3500 hotel and condominium units (Honolulu revised Ordinance 25-9.6) Councilman Donovan Dela Cruz introduced Resolution 06-075 calling on the Department of Planning and Permits to look into these 20 year old permits. Although the resolution could be stronger, it is the first step in possibly getting permits modified or revoked! The Zoning Committee of the City Council could have voted to pass this Resolution at a meeting on Tuesday March 28th, but the Committee DECLINED TO ACT! Let your voice be heard. Express your views on tourism, traffic, agriculture vs. development on the North Shore etc. Ask them, what specifically prevented them from acting at the Tuesday meeting.
YOU HAVE THE POWER TO MOVE THE COUNCIL INTO ACTION Call, Email or Fax EVERY member of the council THIS WEEK and tell them you want Resolution 06-075 PASSED!
