To jbusch: Dopey, if you comprehended what you read, you would understand that the two visible rows of explosives were to take out the perimeter columns. Other (hidden from view) explosives, or similar, where needed to take out the core columns. The core columns supported most of the buildings weight.

The building was not designed like a traditional building of the time. It depended on the core structure. The outer walls were just a "skin".
As the impacted floor lost structural integrity...it pancaked onto the floor below. From that point on, it gathered momemtum. Floor after floor...gathering weight and speed.

On the 23rd July, 2001, just seven weeks previous to the World Trade Center demolitions, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey signed a deal with a consortium (Larry Silverstein, Westfield America Inc and Lloyd Goldman) led by Larry Silverstein for a 99 year lease of the World Trade Center complex. The leased buildings included WTCs One, Two, Four, Five and 400,000 square feet of retail space. The Marriott Hotel (WTC 3), U.S. Customs building (WTC 6) and Silverstein's own 47-story office building (WTC 7) were already under lease. Silverstein is seeking $7.2 billion from insurers for the destruction of the center.

Seven weeks total control of the WTC complex by Silverstein and friends is ample time to lace the central core with explosives (even if they only worked in the wee hours of the morning when everyone was asleep).

Within hours Romero was telling the Albuquerque Journal that the collapse of the twin towers could have been caused by a small amount of explosive put in more than two points in each of the towers.

And Romero should know. After all Van is a demolition expert and a former director of the Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center at Tech, which studies the effects of explosions on buildings.

Fire, Not Extra Explosives, Doomed Buildings, Expert Says

A New Mexico explosives expert says he now believes there were no explosives in the World Trade Center towers, contrary to comments he made the day of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack.
"Certainly the fire is what caused the building to fail," said Van Romero, a vice president at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
The day of the attack, Romero told the Journal the towers' collapse, as seen in news videotapes, looked as though it had been triggered by carefully placed explosives.
Subsequent conversations with structural engineers and more detailed looks at the tape have led Romero to a different conclusion.
Romero supports other experts, who have said the intense heat of the jet fuel fires weakened the skyscrapers' steel structural beams to the point that they gave way under the weight of the floors above.
That set off a chain reaction, as upper floors pancaked onto lower ones.
Romero said he believes still it is possible that the final collapse of each building was triggered by a sudden pressure pulse caused when the fire reached an electrical transformer or other source of combustion within the building.
But he said he now believes explosives would not have been needed to create the collapse seen in video images.
Conspiracy theorists have seized on Romero's comments as evidence for their argument that someone else, possibly the U.S. government, was behind the attack on the Trade Center.
Romero said he has been bombarded with electronic mail from the conspiracy theorists.
"I'm very upset about that," he said. "I'm not trying to say anything did or didn't happen."

Industrial Risk Insurers has been investigating whether it was sufficiently informed that Mr. Silverstein allowed a 6,000-gallon diesel-fuel tank to be installed in 7 World Trade Center as part of a command bunker for city police, fire and emergency services. Investigators believe the tank contributed to the collapse of the 47-story skyscraper seven hours after it was set ablaze by the destruction of the Twin Towers. One insurance inspector has said he didn't know about the tank, according to people with knowledge of the situation.

- Five young israeli agents were arrested on 9/11 as they wildly celebrated attacks from across the river. They were trained in electronics and explosives, had fake passports, $4700. rolled up in a sock, were suspected of trying to blow up the G.W. Bridge, and were disguised as furniture movers, a ruse that could've helped them gain access to the towers to plant explosives. Their van(s) had traces of explosives within and their Israeli boss at "moving Co." fled to Israel days later.

This is a very interesting site that I have come across here, I have enjoyed reading alot of the comments. I was actually kind of shocked by all the devastating things that Israel did in 1947, my regards too everyone that has been affected by that time in history. Before Sept/11 I kinda beleived what I read in the newspapers and heard on the news. How can people beleive a President that issues "blanket alerts" because of alledged information he has received about the "evil doers"? I don't think a 12 year old would beleive their teachers if they talked like that. But of course, how can you beleive anything you read or hear when their is alot of money and careers at stake. I would bet that even the "evil doers" in the planes did what they did for different reasons than they were asked or told to do it. I'm affraid we will never know for sure if there has been a man on the moon, or who killed JFK, or why and how the towers were destroyed. People have too understand that even if you were involved in the whole thing you still probably wouldn't know the whole story. I beleive their were a number of groups invovled all with own interests that combined too confuse the people in to choosing one side or the other, or the other, or the other. I have read lots of information regarding 9/11 and I have concluded that the Bush administration was behind it. No plane in the pentagon, it was a missile, and the WTC was demolished after the planes hit.

This kind of language and name calling is common among people who have so much hate built inside them, and is identical in speech, grammar, and form to what I have heard from numerous Arabs within other nations. These emotionally charged comments work to discredit the author, as there is no need for such vengeful anger here when the objective is careful weighing of fact, argument, and opinion.

Opinions can be made about any set of events. Opinions often use facts, sometimes out of context, to create another purported "fact", which in itself is no longer a fact but an interpretation or simply a biased tact to elevate an opinion.

While there may be some truth to the "set of facts" so far described in the above lists and articles. A careful weighing of these can clearly deduce that some of these claims are false and simply ludicruous. Truth is true and logic is deduce-able and proof-able.
Logic does not always lead to discovering the truth, but it does often provide a most compelling path to the truth. While there are some clear and convincing set of events/statements/evidence that point towards and in support of a co-coordinated directed demolition of WTC Bldgs #1, #2, #3, #7 on 9/11 and Bldgs #4, #5, #6 in the subsequent months, which are consistent with the laws of Newtonian physics, not everything stated above is obviously true and somethings are clear wild/outlandish claims that discredit the genuiness of a "real" conspiracy.

Keep in mind that conspiracy in itself does not mean something is not true and is pure fiction. Conspiracies abound in global politics, corporations, and among friends, co-workers, family, and any team sports. In essence, it is what makes for strategic thinking and a goal-directed plan. In reality, not everything that is said is done as it is so asserted and there is often underlying motive, whether that might range from to happily surprise some one(gf/bf/f/mom/dad/child) with good news, or to tell a funny joke, or to administer a harmful intention.

If a couple of facts are indeed facts and can be tested through experiments to be truthful, then we don't need any extra wild, outlandish claims or opinons, which have no bases other than to promulgate egocentric praise to support a politically or socially motivated set of beliefs, and which discredit the truth.

Conspiracy is common among all species, especially when it comes to survival or defense. Unfortunately, it is also common in the corporate world and bombards consumers on a minute-by-minute, place-by-place basis. It is also common among governments, indeed, any institution. If the towers were so hot as to implode on themselves, how did all those people walk down to safety prior to the detonation of the demolition bombs?. People above the planes walked down to safety without being sublimated. Why did building 7 go down (47 stories), the planes did not hit it?

The heat of combustion of the aviation fuel was not even within a factor of 1000 of the heat of fusion of the million metric tones of construction steel in those towers. The engineering firm contracted to maintain the towers released one statement ‘ the planes (jets) did not bring the towers down.'

all you have to do to make a decision on this matter is gather up all the video and scientific data/evidence you can find and soon you will be sure to know this was a planned demolition. The sad truth is these building could not have fallen in the nature they did without a SIGNIFICANT amount of explosives. I do not buy the argument presented here, at least not completely. As it stands, it's too simplistic for the following reasons:
[1] We don't know the exact amount of time for the top to reach the ground, and pancaking collapse from the top down may not take much longer than floor-by-floor iterative explosion from the bottom induced by vertical collapse of the intact tower falling from above.
[2] Videos from the collapsing tower 2 (the first to go down) show that the collapse began with an "explosion" around the perimeter of about the 78th floor, consistent with column failure at about that level. That is, as the top floors fell in a block on the lower floors, they formed a piston to drive the air on each successive level out as its columns collapsed. This is an evident effect. I found the text from Cross extremely eloquent and agree in a large part, however would caution against remarks suggesting that the American nation was founded upon multiculturalism and freedom for all its natives, given the first settlers abhorrent treatment of the indigenous population.
We forget our history too easily, and that is why it sadly tends to repeat itself.

I have researched so many different conspiracy theories over 9/11 and do believe that there is something behind this. I am Scottish but do believe that this is not the end of these terrorist bombings.
