Student Day of Protest: Hilo

Public Forum on Media, noon, Nov. 20 followed by "open mike" session on how media is influencing Iraq-war talk. Entire student body present to be video'd and broadcast on Cable-TV.
As part of the national Student Day of Protest, Global Hope, a registered student club at the U. of Hawaii, Hilo, is sponsoring a Public Forum titled "Media: Liberal or Conservative?" featuring outstanding Professors John Marlow, Noelie Rodriguez and Catherine Becker. The open-mike forum following the short speeches will focus on the issue of media influence in drumming support for a massive attack on Iraq. Volunteers will videotape the sessions for broadcast over the public access channel on cable-TV.
