Pledge of Resistance
by epsas Thursday, Nov. 07, 2002 at 8:20 PM

As people living in the United States, we believe it is our responsibility to resist the injustices done by our government in our name.

PLEDGE OF RESISTANCE
Join with thousands nationwide to take this
pledge of resistance
.

As people living in the United States, we believe
it is our responsibility to resist the injustices
done by our government in our name.

Not in our name
will you wage "endless war."

There can be no more deaths,
No more transfusions of blood for oil.

Not in our name
will you invade countries,
bomb civilians, kill more children,
letting history take its course
over the graves of the nameless.

Not in our name
will you erode the very freedoms
you've claimed to fight for.

Not by our hands
will we supply weapons and funding
for the annihilation of families
on foreign soil.

Not by our mouths
will we let fear silence us.

Not by our hands
will we allow whole peoples or countries
to be deemed evil.

Not by our will,
and not in our name.

We pledge resistance.
We pledge alliance with those
who have come under attack
for voicing opposition to the war
or for their religion or ethnicity.

We pledge to make common cause
with the people of the world
to bring about justice, freedom and peace.

Another world is possible
and we pledge to make it real.

= Time Appeal
by DLi Friday, Nov. 08, 2002 at 12:30 PM

Wouldn't it be great if high school organizers initiative a local & national campaign to get "Equal Time" for those students who wish to recite the Pledge of Resistance, if the school(s) require students to recite the traditional "Pledge of Allegiance" ?

Wouldn't it be great if "Dog" were spelled C-A-T?

Whether you believe that war is necessary to preserve freedom or not. Will you guys at least show support and pray for our AMERICAN KIDS risking their lives to preserve your right to trash the country that most of us love?

God bless our great land and freedom!
God bless our troops!

Yeah wouldn't it be great if we did nothing and just sat around and recited various pledges?
And then when the war started we could totally be like "Hey we told you he would do it!" of course if he doesn't "Well it must have been that pledge!"
God bless the paper revolutionary!

Why
by Peace Monger Monday, Mar. 24, 2003 at 12:47 PM

Why is it.. that those who want to spread democracy far and wide, are the ones who tolerate it the LEAST in this country?

You say we're trashing America? Not!!
We are putting to work, those very freedoms that those souldiers in this war believe they are fighting for, and the one before that and the one before that ad nauseum.
But since it doesn't go with YOUR solution, which is DEATH... then it must be labeled as "traitor" or "unpatriotic".
I believe that protesting a government action you don't agree with IS patriotic. Isn't it still "government of the PEOPLE, BY the people"?
Are you out there holding up a sign that says, "Lets kill people!"? Hell no. Why? Well because it's just not right. You want to be alive yes? Experience the joys of life? So does every citizen of Iraq.

Don't even start some 9/11 thing and how this is linked. Ther is still no substantial proof that Iraq should be pummeled, and American souldiers should die as some kind of pay-back.
Yes it suck that we got attacked. Yes it would be great if they were brought to justice with EVIDENCE and could be tried before a jury of their peers and then sentenced to a fitting punishment.

But guess what? No Osama to be had so what the hell, Iraq is good enough, and you all join up like a lynch mob to hang them all. It's sick.

Further talk and sanctions would have resolved this. The UN, given more time than six months, would have resolved this. The UN. Founded by people in the interest of NEVER LETTING WAR HAPPEN AGAIN!! Brave men, My Dad included, fought for that. Many died for it. And after a relatively short time, it's all been tossed out the window in the name of spreading democracy!! Can't you see the irony in this??! I DO appreciate the fact that the UN was founded, and I feel cheated that it wasn't given enough time to do it's job.

It's my RESPONSIBILITY to protest this war. Why? Because it is unjust for the citizens of Iraq. It does not mean that I don't hold support for our troops!! Why do you pro-war folks all jump to that friggin conclusion??

Gettin Saddam out is great. YES!! get the sumbicth out!... if it takes troops being sent and they want to go they can..

I'm just saying, why can't we have the PATIENCE to do it right, without the loss of life!

I support our troops. Get them home alive NOW!!

OK somebody slam that. I'm sure you vcan find something there that you'll misconstru as non-supportive and still think we're all pieces of shit, because we value all life. Go ahead...

I love you anyway...

It has to do with the fact that we have been giving Saddam time since 1990.... How many more years would you like our government to wait? Until Saddam launches a nuke against one of it neighbors? Countries Like Russia make it even harder because they can't control their own people... they are selling weapons systems and matterial to Iraq allowing them to build up their strength to inflict for pain on the people of that region....

Are you not aware that Saddam gassed a hole city in the northern section of Iraq..... You say the poor people.... who are you speaking for? The government hold an election and 100% of the people voted for him to be in office.... What a joke.. Ya that's a sign of a free people.

As for our troops you have no right to speak for us.... either!
I volunteered to defend this country and ALL it stands for!
I pray to God that Our president and his aids are given the wisdom to do the right thing at the right time!

I personnally felt that the last time we had several hundred thousand troups in that region thew first time we should have finished the job..... It would have been much cleanner since we had already pummeled their forces for a month with bombs.... a broken will would have been easy to defeat.... less dead on both sides as they were surrendering left and right!

But, now.... they have huge egoes thinking that we were scared to follow them into Iraq the first time and they believe they actually won!

So, now for the hard reality.... We the forces of the United States of Ameraica ALL Signed away our lives to protect her under the guidance and wisdom of the President and the other goverment officials WE (you included) elected into office....

I'm ready to die for my country if need be....

Would you place you life on the line for our country?
